We do this by:
Responding to community contexts and needs
Including communities as co-creators
Representing diverse peoples and perspectives
PBS LearningMedia is the free K-12 digital resource platform that GBH co-founded and co-manages with PBS, and which hosts thousands of free, standards-aligned videos, interactives, and lesson plans spanning all subjects for teachers and students. Last school year, PBS LearningMedia garnered 69 million pageviews in the U.S.
As kids head back into classrooms this fall, we are excited to highlight some of our PBS LearningMedia favorite collections for each grade band here:
- For grades K-2, the MOLLY OF DENALI™ Collection includes video excerpts from the popular PBS KIDS series, lesson plans, games, and activities to help teachers, students, and families explore informational text, Alaska Native values, and the natural world.
- For grades 3-5, the Bringing the Universe to America’s Classrooms Collection offers interactive games with Ruff Ruffman, and visualizations and images from NASA to support learning about waves, space, Earth’s systems, and weather and climate.
- For middle school grades, the Math at the Core: Middle School Collection engages diverse middle school students with math concepts by grounding them in real-world, relevant issues. The collection includes videos, interactives, classroom activities, and suggested student-led projects.
- For high school grades, the AMERICAN EXPERIENCE® Collection uses clips from GBH’s award-winning documentary series to bring to life the incredible characters and epic stories that have shaped America's past and present.
